Some history...

The Chopin Music Association has been established in 1999.A group of people affiliated with the Świetokrzyska Philharmonic had an idea to establish an organization with a purpose to support the activity of the Philharmonic for the period of time when the culture has become almost last item on the list if those areas subsidized by the government. This idea was not totally new, but all activities taken so far have been scattered, not well organized and giving very little effects. They all were centered mainly around the musicians without any support from the people not involved with the music professionally. The idea was to create a lobby which could support activity of the orchestra in its hard times. The group of founders has got together and chosen temporary Board of Directors among themselves. Their goal was to determine a project of the Statutes of the Chopin Music Association and prepare for its registration. The Chopin Music Association has been entered into a court register on May 28,1999.

§ 6 and 7 of the Statutes define purposes and scope of activity of the Chopin Music Association.
 
 

§ 6
The purposes of the Association are:
  1. Get together in the Association the representatives of intellectuals of different professions, interested in culture, especially in music.
  2. Support the activity of the O.Kolberg Świętokrzyska Philharmonic, a leading music institution of the region.
  3. Develop the interest of the society in music (especially among children and youth).
  4. Support tradition of the Polish intelligence by organizing meetings after the concert, discussion regarding cultural problems, social gatherings, etc. 
  5. Support all beneficial initiatives regarding music life and other parts of the culture.
  6. Promote music and culture in the region, as well as integration of the artistic environment.
§ 7

The Association reaches their purposes throughout:

  1. Contacting and establishing cooperation with autorities, corporations and organizations which activities relate to culture.
  2. Forming opinions, conclusions and proposals regarding musical and cultural life of the city and the region.
  3. Gaining sponsors, establishing foundations, mediation in depositing founds for the specific purposes as stated in the Statutes.
  4. Organizing musical events and events leading to music and culture popularization.
  5. Getting cooperation and interest of wise and precious people in activity of the Association.
